Based in the idyllic Eden Valley, The Crown Inn offers a traditional pub menu with a twist. Local, seasonal produce defines our varied specials board, offering something just a little bit different. We also offer events catering options across Cumbria so please don't hesitate to contact us.

 

Chef Chris Isles has over 30 years of experience in the dining and catering world.

​

Chris is an experienced chef and restaurant manager, having settled into Lake District cheffing almost 20 years ago. Here he's worked alongside local businesses to develop product ranges for popular producers and farm shops. More recently, Chris has been Head Chef at local dining pubs including The Dukes Head, Armathwaite; The Shepherds Inn, Langwathby and finally, The Herdwick Inn, Penruddock where his food was coined 'a modern taste of the Cumbrian Fells' before finally going on to buy The Crown Inn in 2022.

Sustainable Local Produce

As a business, it is important to us to provide fresh and local ingredients where possible and that's why we strive to keep our food miles low and quality high.

The majority of our meat is sourced just three miles away from The Stobart Family's Farm at Croglin. Tom and Jimmy are passionate producers who run "An ethical, responsible & sustainable farm. Their whole operation is managed with the environment at the forefront of what they do, and they deliver this by being a sustainable and responsible regenerative farm, producing traceable great tasting products."
